Founding Partner

Preakas Sampunathan

Preakas Sampunathan is the founding Partner of the firm. He read law at the University of Northumbria, Newcastle, UK and obtained his Certificate of Legal Practice from the Legal Profession Qualifying Board, Malaysia in the year 2008. He has also obtained his Professional Diploma in International Arbitration (MIArb) in 2019.

Besides being an experienced Civil and Criminal litigator, Preakas also provides Corporate Advisory services for Corporate Companies pertaining to debt recoveries, commercial transactions and restructuring. Some of his areas of practice include:-

Partner

Navinderan Subramaniam

Navinderan Subramaniam is a barrister of Inns of Court, Lincoln's Inn. He was called to English Bar in 2006 after completing his LLB with Honours from Northumbria University, Newcastle England. He also completed his Masters in Law (LLM) from the same university subsequently. He actually holds another law degree from the University of Wolverhampton (distance learning), which he had obtained in 1996. He has also obtained his Professional Diploma in International Arbitration (MIArb) in 2019.

Navinderan, is a litigator and has broad practice and experience which he had gained from his previous employment. Some of his areas of practice include: -

He frequently appears in High Courts and appellate courts as a Counsel and assisted senior Counsels in many of the disputes. He had also represented a major life insurance company in Malaysia in various insurance disputes. He is also a life member of a Medico-legal Society of Malaysia.

Mohd Roshan bin Noor Hadi

Mohd Roshan bin Noor Hadi Prebagaran graduated from the University of London in 2012. Roshan then obtained his Certificate of Legal Practice / Sijil Amalan Guaman in November 2013. He completed his pupilage at Messrs K. Francis & Varghese in 2014 and was subsequently admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in the same year.

Upon his admission, he commenced practice at Messrs Saranjit Singh in January 2015, where he remained in active legal practice until September 2023. He later joined Messrs Preakas & Partners in November 2023 as a Legal Associate and is presently a Partner of the firm. His area of practice focuses primarily on civil and corporate litigation, including but not limited to:

Komal Vijay Sheth

Komal Vijay Sheth read law at the University of Liverpool and graduated with LL.B (Honours) in the year 2018 and was called to the Honourable Society of Middle Temple in 2019. She was then admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2021 after completing her pupillage in Messrs Preakas & Partners under the tutelage of Navinderan Subramaniam. Having completed her pupillage in the same law firm, she is exposed to a myriad of fields such as general litigation, medical negligence, family litigation, wills and administration of estates, general and many more.

Komal now focuses primarily on the following practice areas:-

Miguel Sequerah

Miguel Sequerah read law at Aberystwyth University, Wales and graduated with Honours. He then obtained his Certificate in Legal Practice from the Legal Professional Qualifying Board, Malaysia in the year 2019. He was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 11 December 2020 upon completing his pupillage at Messrs Shearn Delamore & Co. Upon his admission to the Malaysian Bar in 2020, he started practice at Messrs Azim, Tunku Farik & Wong as an Associate before joining Messrs Preakas & Partners in November 2021.

Miguel focuses primarily on litigation and his area of practice includes Criminal & Civil Litigation which encompasses such areas as: -

Adeline Loh Qiao Ping

Adeline Loh Qiao Ping is a Barrister-at-Law of Middle Temple. She completed her Bachelor of Laws (Honours) in University of Liverpool and was then called to English Bar in 2021. Adeline started her pupillage in Messrs Manjit Singh Sachdev Mohammad Radzi & Partners and was admitted to the Malaysian Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2023. Upon her admission to the Malaysian Bar, she joined us as a first-year associate seeking to gain the exposure and invaluable experience in litigation.

Adeline has mainly been involved and assisted in cases concerning contractual claim including breach of contract and misrepresentation. She also has experience in corporate matters in respect with drafting agreements and conducting due diligence.

Rishyan Raaj

Rishyan Raaj read law at Aberystwyth University, Wales and graduated with Honours in 2018. He obtained his Certificate of Legal Practice (CLP) from the Legal Profession Qualifying Board in 2023. He completed his pupilage at Messrs Preakas & Partners under the tutelage of Mr.Preakas Sampunathan in 2024 and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2025. He was subsequently retained as a Legal Associate at Messrs Preakas & Partners.

Rishyan has assisted in trials and hearings at all level of the Malaysian courts, and is involved in a broad range of contentious and advisory matters. His area of practice includes, Tort law (including Defamation), Contractual disputes, Probate and Administration, and Criminal Law.

Lavendran Nair

Lavendran Nair read law in University of Liverpool, UK and was admitted to the Honourable Society of Middle Temple in 2024 as a Barrister-At-Law of England and Wales. Prior to his call to the English Bar, Lavendran commenced his legal journey as an intern at Messrs Preakas & Partners, where he gained early exposure to litigation practice and court proceedings. This foundational experience paved the way for him to later complete his pupillage at the same firm under the guidance and tutelage of Mr. Preakas Sampunathan and senior members of the firm.

Upon completion of his pupillage, Lavendran was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor at the High Court of Malaya and thereafter he continued his practice as a Legal Associate with Messrs Preakas & Partners, where he has been actively involved in a wide range of civil and criminal matters across various levels of the Malaysian courts. His training and continued practice within a litigation-focused environment have equipped him with strong advocacy skills, strategic legal thinking, and hands-on courtroom experience. Lavendran now focuses primarily on the following practice areas:
